  • 2009 Recap

Urbansurf 4 Kids hosted a series of “Surf Camps” over the summer. The weather and the water in San Diego was perfect all summer! All of the camps where held with the participants agreement of giving back to the community. All of our sessions where rewarding, however one high school student Paco went above and beyond. He joined us to deliver food to an orphanage in Baja and spent time helping the kids with soccer (he is a varisity high school soccer player) We also had the opportunity to provide a camp for 8 students from Monarch School (they provide an accredited education to homeless and at risk kids while caring for basic needs such as healthcare, food, clothing and personal hygiene.) They loved it! We also support an ongoing weekly PE class for the 8th graders! Something we look forward to each week.

    August 2009

A handful of volunteers made a trip to Haiti to spend a week at Espwa (an all boys orphanage of over 500 in La Caye) We spent 5 days providing basketball clinics and then allowing the kids to give us a clinic in soccer (they are good) We are planning to go back and bring a surfboard and some snorkel equipment as we where able to scout some viable areas. Stay tuned in 2010 for this trip!
