UrbanSurf4kids located in San Diego is committed to helping kids south of the border in Baja California Region learn to surf and serve. Over the last year we have reached out to make a difference in Mexico. As many of you know of the increasing violence within Baja California many group has stopped supporting visits, this has made the need even greater! We have established two relationship with local orphanages and have been providing support for well over a year. We have agreed to visit each orphanage once a month. Every trip we bring much needed supplies of food and any other items requested. City of Refuge just outside of Rosarito host close to 35 children ranging in age from 2-16 years old, their location is about 1 mile from the ocean set in the foothills. Door of Faith is about 25 miles further south, however they are much bigger close to 100 kids (infants to teenagers) located maybe 2 miles from ocean. Our times have been filled of many memorable memories of not only surfing but also singing,eating together,tripping over soccer balls,and simply enjoying each others company. We can never forget the impact that these visit have as Edgar from City of Refuge said “We love when you come and will never forget these times”.
